The Stiebel-Eltron [LWZ 180] has been selected for this project. It is a perfect unit for a modest-sized house.
Inlets will be located in the bedrooms and extracts will be placed in the kitchen and bathroom.
This will ensure clean air in bedrooms, moist and odorous air is exhausted and there is regular air exchange throughout the house.

Frequently asked questions
Cost of Air Control system?
The Stiebel Eltron system installed for this 80m2 building cost had a minimum of $6K for the system (all components). The system is a LWZ70 balanced heat recovery ventilation system with ridged ducting, which will be insulated over. Insulating over the ductwork is separate to that.
For small projects (and simple) we can do the Galvanised duct option. This can be an issue if the Galvanised ducting has to cross over at some stage so is generally not an option. Ara is one of those fortunate few. Galvanised ducting will be the low cost solution but problems come with that option also. Especially cross talk. Galvanised ducting options will be $6K and upwards components only.
The small diameter ducting is the solution generally. This option almost always prices out around $8K and above mark (components only). The small diameter tubes are considerable more user friendly on site also.
With the MVHR system in the truss roof space is this outside of the thermal envelope ie is the ceiling insulated or is there a warm roof?
The ductwork for the ventilation system will be inside the thermal envelope - we're installing 290mm of blown in insulation with baffles around the perimeter, then adding batt insulation over the ducts where needed.
